Events Schedule

We know some of you are travelling far to join us. In addition to our celebration on the 19th, we have planned activities for those who are staying in Tunbridge Wells for multiple days. Please join us for any or all of these events.

Friday 18 August

Scotney Castle • 1pm

Join us for an afternoon exploring the grounds of Scotney Castle, a 14th century moated castle and a Victorian country mansion where Marissa and Stas got engaged. Tickets can be purchased at the door. We’ll meet at 1pm in front of the entrance where the ticket purchases are made - what.three.words: electrode.attention.enchanted

Scotney Castle can only be reached by car. Book car parking in advance here if you’re driving yourself or please see this list of taxi companies and book in advance.

Dinner at Marissa & Stas’s House • 5-8pm

For those in town on Friday evening, please join us for dinner at Marissa & Stas’s house. Please bring a drink to share.

Address: 2 Scots Pine Grove, Wadhurst TN5 6FR

what.three.words: blush.spectacle.spicy

By train: Trains are available from Tunbridge Wells to Wadhurst. Use the app Trainline to book your train ticket. Upon arrival at Wadhurst station, our house is a 20 minute walk (uphill - be warned) down a long and quiet country lane. Reception can be spotty so be sure to have your maps loaded before your journey. Because our house is a new build, it sometimes doesn’t show on maps. If your GPS struggles to show where it is, let us know and we will drop a pin to you.

By taxi: Please see this list of taxi companies and book in advance.

By car: There’s plenty of guest parking near our house, please park anywhere you find a spot.

Saturday 19 August

Wedding & Birthday Celebration • Kingdom • 2pm

Our celebration will consist of a rooftop toast, a wedding breakfast, a birthday cake for Imogen, dancing, a fire pit, and late night snacks. The venue closes at midnight, book taxis accordingly. Wear your best and come ready for fun! Please note our dog will be attending too.

There is plenty of parking for those driving, otherwise, taxis should be booked well in advance.

Sunday 20 August

Picnic in the Tunbridge Wells Common • 11am

For those still in town on Sunday, please join us for a bring-your-own-food picnic in the Tunbridge Wells Common. We suggest buying your lunch in one of the many fabulous cafes on the Tunbridge Wells High Street (Juliet’s is our favourite!). Our picnic spot is a short 10-15 minute walk into the Common near the rugby pitch. Please note this is an off-leash area for dogs. We’ll bring blankets and towels to sit on.

There is a parking lot on Fir Tree Road and street parking available on Castle Road.

Travel Tips

For those coming from abroad, please see the below travel tips to make your journey as smooth as can be.

Transportation:

There is no Uber in or around Tunbridge Wells. To get to and from any venue without a car you need to book a taxi. Please see this list of taxi companies and book in advance to secure travel, especially to and from the venue on the 19th.

Going to and from London is very easy with the train system. The app Trainline will allow you to book digital tickets.

We recommend you download the app Citymapper to plan your travel, it’s absolutely brilliant.

Money:

The UK is predominately cashless, especially on the back of the pandemic, and primarily uses the tap system (or chip and pin system when tapping doesn’t work). Even most taxis take card now, but do check in advance. Rather than take out cash at ATMs or worry about exchanging leftover money at the airport, check and see if your credit or debit card allows for free international transactions. If not, it’s worth it to open a new bank account or credit card so you can make free international transactions.

Cell Phones:

If you have an iPhone, you can Facetime or iMessage over wifi, which almost all public places offer for free now. If you don’t have an iPhone, you can download Whatsapp and call and message over wifi. These options mean you don’t have to take out an expensive international phone plan and only use your data sparingly.

Our Address:

We moved in July 2023 to a village on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells called Wadhurst. Our address is now:

2 Scots Pine Grove

Wadhurst, TN5 6FR

Wadhurst is a lovely and quaint village, but if you’re looking for somewhere less rural to spend time or stay overnight, we recommend staying in Tunbridge Wells.

If you have any questions about the above or want more travel tips, ask Marissa!
